Parallel plate wet denuder (PPWD) is composed of two frosted glass plates coated with hydrophobic nano-TiO2 particles to create a uniform water firm for efficient sampling of acidic and basic gases. By coupling with an ion chromatograph (IC), the PPWS-IC monitoring system can be used for automatic acidic/basic gas monitoring with lower background values and without the need of membrane replacement as compared to other commercial devices which are based on hydrophilic membrane absorption technology.
